Your characters, be they vampires, or mortals, have a number of abilities at their disposal which will impact other characters and the world around them. The most obvious examples of this are Vampiric Disciplines and Garou Gifts.
These things range from the subtle to hugely impactful, but they all accomplish some goal. It could be as extreme as killing another character, or simply to intimidate. But they are all regulated on these boards.
When you want to use a Discipline, Gift, or anything comparable in the thread, you are required to post that use in your Questions & Comments thread before doing so. Staff will make all required rolls. Even things that might only require the expenditure of a stat on your sheet, rather than any rolls, must be indicated first, both so that Staff can keep track of such expenditures, and resolve the impact it might have on other characters. Use of a certain Discipline might be the utterly mundane for your character, but could be deeply unnerving to another character.
If you use one of these abilities in a thread - or take action that another player would likely interpret as the use of such an ability - without following the above procedure, it will be treated as though it were Botched, even with abilities that don't require a roll. We understand that sometimes you just want to do something that looks cool, but if it would require the use of an ability to bring about, that ability must be used.
